Daniel Ziebig (born January 21, 1983 in Elsterwerda ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

From the Saxon FV Gröditz in 1911 , Ziebig switched to the youth team at Dynamo Dresden at the age of 15 . With the Dresden team, he was promoted to the Regionalliga Nord in 2002 and played almost every game in Saxony for two years. When he was promoted again in 2004, an injury ( cruciate ligament rupture ) resulted in a moderate second division season as an offensive player with only eight appearances.

He then moved to Hamburger SV , where he was only used in the second team in the regional league. Therefore, he was loaned to the second division Energie Cottbus during the winter break . There he was used as a left-back and established himself in this position as a regular player. For his contribution to the ascent of the Niederlausitzer in the Bundesliga , he was signed in the summer of 2006 for the first division squad with a three-year contract.

In April 2009, Daniel Ziebig suffered another cruciate ligament tear. In the same year Energie Cottbus was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . After he lost his regular place in the first half of the 2012/13 season and came only to one game, Ziebig was loaned to third division club Hallescher FC for the second half of the season . In July 2013, Ziebig terminated his contract with Energie Cottbus and signed with Halleschen FC until 2015. There he was long considered a regular player; In the 2013/14 season Ziebig completed 36 season games without being replaced and only missed two due to two yellow card suspensions . In total, he saw 14 yellow cards this season. In the following season he played only irregularly and was often substituted on. He then ended his professional career in 2015.
