Zoltan "Bimbo" Farmati (born July 9, 1924 in Șimleu Silvaniei , Sălaj district ; † January 3, 2006 in Arad ) was a Romanian football player . He completed a total of 219 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság and took part in the 1952 Olympic Games .

Career

Farmati began his career during the Second World War with Kolozsvári AC in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság . After the war he moved to local rivals Ferar Cluj , the Romanian in the top division, the Divizia A , was active. In 1947, Farmati joined the reigning champions ITA Arad (later Flamura Roşie Arad and UTA Arad), which was one of the best Romanian teams of the 1940s and 1950s. In Arad he was able to win the Romanian championship in 1948 , 1950 and 1954 and the Romanian cup in 1948 and 1953 . In 1959 he ended his career there.

National team

Zoltan Farmati played a total of 21 games for the Romanian national football team between 1947 and 1953 , but scored no goal. He had his first mission on June 22, 1947 against Yugoslavia . In 1952 he was in the squad for the Olympic Games in Helsinki and was used in the first game against the eventual Olympic champion Hungary .
