Zonaria is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Umeå .

history

Zonaria was originally founded in 2001 by Simon Berglund, Christoffer Wikström and Mikael Hammarberg under the name Seal Precious. In the beginning they played Power Metal , where they sang “clean”, which is typical for the genre. When the second guitarist Emil Nyström joined the band in 2003, they changed the band name to Zonaria. For two years they mainly played in a small area around their hometown until they recorded their first demo album Evolution Overdose in 2005 . After the release, the band changed parts of the line-up and took on Emanuel "Cebbe" Isaksson as drummer and Jerry Ekman as bassist. Through the published demo, the record label Pivotal Rockordings became aware of them, but it did not come to a contract.

In November 2006, Zonaria signed a record deal with Pivotal Rockordings. Shortly after signing, they worked with members of Scar Symmetry on their debut album , which was released in 2007. After the bassist switched from Jerry Ekman to Markus Åkebo, they recorded the video for the first single The Armageddon Anthem . In the opening act for Pain , Marduk , Satyricon , Vader and Grave in the years 2007 to 2009, Zonaria became known beyond Sweden in Europe.

In 2008 the band signed with Century Media to record their second album that same year at Studio Fredman.
