Zoran Konstantinović
Zoran Konstantinović ( Cyrillic Зоран Константиновић; born June 5, 1920 in Belgrade , † May 22, 2007 in Belgrade) was a Serbian literary scholar .
Life
Konstantinović attended a. a. at the Graz Marian Brothers school. Shortly after the outbreak of World War II, he was taken prisoner by Germany. After the end of the war he taught English and German in military schools in Zagreb and Belgrade; He also studied French, English, German, Russian and Yugoslav literature in Belgrade, Zagreb and Munich. In 1953 he received his doctorate , in 1957 he completed his habilitation. In 1964 he became a professor at the University of Belgrade . 1970 was Zoran Konstantinović a call to the University of Innsbruck and was also a founding director of the Institute for Comparative Literature . In 1990 he retired .
Act
He published about 600 publications on fundamental questions of the theory and method problems of comparative literature. He became known with the standard work "Introduction to Comparative Literature" and research results on interliterary relationships, especially in the field of "Central European peoples".
Konstantinović was a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, as well as a member of the Commission for Literature and the literary and cultural studies committee Austria-Hungary of the Austrian Academy of Sciences . He was a corresponding member of the Southeast Europe Society. In 1990 he was a founding member of the Humboldt Club Serbia. He was awarded the Konstantin Jireček gold medal in 1994.
