The church

The Protestant village church to our dear women is in Buchfart in the district of Weimarer Land in Thuringia . The Buchfart parish belongs to the Buchfart-Legefeld parish association in the Weimar parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The church at Kreisstraße 511, which crosses the town, is easily accessible.

history

The oldest part of the choir tower church comes from the Romanesque period . In 1502 the parish of Buchfart was rebuilt, so the church already existed.

Furnishing

The winged altar from Jena’s Linde workshop dates from 1492 . It shows Mary as the Queen of Heaven on the crescent moon with a halo and a child in her arms. Other figures are Peter and Paul as well as the Saints Dorothea , Barbara , Katharina and Margareta with the insignia . When closed, the winged altar shows the proclamation of the Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary. The crucifix is also from the 16th century.

The romantic organ is operated pneumatically.

Bells

They are from 1850 and have been struck by an electric bell since 2011.
