Zwickl is a remote farm in the Schönbrunn district of the municipality of Sankt Wolfgang in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding in Bavaria .

The courtyard, which lies south of the Rimbach on a northern slope, is presumably the only residential stable building in the district from the 16th century that still exists in its original location. It is also the oldest secular monument in the district.

For the renovation, the owners (Anni and Anton Daumoser) were honored with the Bavarian Monument Protection Medal in 2019 .

description

The farm's stable house is located on a hearth that can be traced back to 1130. The single-storey flat saddle roof building, erected on a high barrel-vaulted basement, has been used as a farmhouse for a long time. The knee stick was dated to 1580.

Around 1800 the ground floor was converted. The business section on the slope was extended in 1850. Apart from that, the building's construction period and cubature have been preserved unchanged. In 1930 the outer wall of the first floor was renewed, while the log construction was preserved inside.

Due to a special feature of the knee stick, the western part of the upper floor was habitable. The inner walls, the ceilings, the low doors and the small square windows with partly original sliding windows have remained unchanged from the construction period.

In January 2014, an emergency safety measure was carried out on the part of the stable, which was in danger of collapsing. In 2016 and 2017, the historic block building was renovated in close coordination with the monument protection authorities.
