The place is 2 kilometers southwest of Gosen, 4 kilometers west-southwest of Neu Zittau , 14 kilometers northwest of Spreenhagen and 44 kilometers northwest of Beeskow . The neighboring towns are Gosen in the northeast, Neu Zittau in the east, Wernsdorf in the southeast, Ziegenhals , Zeuthen and Eichwalde in the southwest and Treptow-Köpenick in the northwest.

The first written mention of the place comes from the year 1805. In the statistical-topographical description of the entire Mark Brandenburg by Friedrich Wilhelm August Bratring it was recorded at this time with the name Fischerhaus .
