Matthew Capiccioni (born December 31, 1980) is a professional wrestler, better known as M-Dogg 20 or Matt Cross. He is a former star of Xtreme Pro Wrestling and Combat Zone Wrestling currently working as a regular in Ring of Honor, amongst other independent promotions. His professional wrestling gimmick is that of a "straight edge" believer, a culture which he follows in real life, similar to that of popular professional wrestler CM Punk.

Career

Matt participated in competitive gymnastics for ten years. In 1999 Capiccioni and his high school friend Josh Piscura (aka Josh Prohibition) discovered ECW and decided to start training, Cappicioni was involved in backyard wrestling (including JCW) before enrolling at the Cleveland Pro Wrestling training school under J.T. Lightning.

Matt made his debut in Hawaii when he debuted for Action Zone Wrestling on May 31st and June 1st, 2006 as part of their Anniversary Annihilation event. On May 31st, 2006 he lost to Super Hentai in their first ever singles meeting. Then on June 1st he teamed with Society's Rejects to defeat King Makoa & The Hotbodies in a six man elimination match. Returned on Dec. 21st, 2006 to team up with Super Hentai for the first time ever to defeat DDB and AkuA at Battleclash II.

Matt made his long awaited debut in Ring Of Honor on October 7, 2006 in Detroit as the replacement for Delirious, who fought earlier in the night against the debuting Zach Gowen. Matt wouldn't win the 6 Man Mayhem match but he impressed the crowd and ROH officials enough that Matt would return to ROH in the future. He returned October 27th, 2006 in Dayton, Ohio, where he lost in a good match to Christopher Daniels. He would take on Daniels again in Philadelphia on November 4, 2006. This match saw Daniels pin M-Dogg (billed as "M-Dogg" Matt Cross) with the Angel's Wings.

At the time Matt was the reigning UWA Hardcore Wrestling Canadian Champion, having regained the title from Puma at the "Return of the Dragon" show on July 28th. Although he missed night one of UWA Hardcore's annual GP tournament, he made a surprise return on the second night of the tournament during the main event steel cage match. Matt's return ultimately helped Osiris and Jerry Lynn win the match over the Pure Wrestling Association (PWA), the stable led by Matt's former partner Josh Prohibition. As a stipulation of the match, control of the company reverted from Prohibition back to Osiris, the original owner of the company.

One month later at UWA Hardcore Return of the Phoenix, Matt lost the Canadian championship to Josh Prohibition in a gauntlet match also featuring Rip Impact.

On December 9, 2006 M-Dogg (subbing for the injured Matt Sydal) teamed with one half of the ROH tag team champions Christopher Daniels, and went on to lose to Austin Aries & Roderick Strong in a non title match.

In MTV's Wrestling Society X he teamed with Teddy Hart as "The Filth and the Fury".

In Ring of Honor, following the formation of the No Remorse Corps, Austin Aries asked Matt Cross to be the new member of his new stable. Later that night, Cross teamed with Aries to beat NRC representatives Davey Richards and Roderick Strong. During the course of the match, Cross went for a corkscrew springboard moonsault, but landed on the guardrail and sustained a major cut running down his entire body. He returned to ROH in April 2007, suffering defeats on successive nights against Davey Richards and Shingo Takagi.
