Jaaneman is a 2006 Bollywood movie starring Akshay Kumar,Salman Khan and Preity Zinta in lead roles. The movie is directed Shirish Kunder and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film also reunites Akshay and Salman post the super success of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004).
Filming started in New York City on September 1 2005. The filming then moved to Mumbai and is completed. Currently in post-production the film will release on Divali/Eid 20th October, according to sources. [1].
According to sources, Kumar and Zinta play husband and wife [2]. Recent movie stills have also shown the two with a kid in the picture, which has led people to believe that Akshay and Preity are parents in the film [3]. Jaanemann has also been in the news lately because of rumours that it has fetched a record price for its distrubution rights. [4]
Controversy
There was an issue regarding whether Preity Zinta would appear due to the "Salman-Aishwarya Tape Scandal," in which Salman was reported to vulgarly denounce Zinta. Zinta agreed to continue working on the movie, stating that the validity of the tapes was still in question and that she finds it, "Rather strange that the tapes surfaced now at a time when Salman is making a genuine effort to put his life together. And the text sounds so staccato, unreal". Later the tapes were proved to be false.
Rumour has it that in early 2006, Salman Khan reportedly travelled abroad to undergo a hair transplant but there were some complications and he came back to India bald. This caused the production of Jaaneman to stall and production was once again delayed [5]. Another version of the rumour is that Salman Khan purposely went bald for the film [6].
