Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher ( Hindi : अनुपम खेर; born March 7, 1955 in Shimla ) is an Indian actor of Hindi films . He has appeared in more than 200 films.
Life
After graduating from the drama school in New Delhi ( National School of Drama ) in 1978, he initially worked as a theater actor. He had his first leading role in the film in Saaransh , for which he received his first of eight Filmfare Awards in 1984 . He won five of these prizes in the Best Comedian category alone . In German-speaking countries, his role as the father of a family in Gurinder Chadha's Kick it like Beckham is probably his best known.
Anupam Kher is an alumnus of the National School of Drama in New Delhi and was its director from 2001 to 2004. He is married to actress Kiron Kher .
