Welcome to the Organized Labour Project

Although there is a growing collection of Labour articles, there is a need to improve and widen the scope of Labour in general on Wikipedia. Currently there is limited information on specific trade union organizations, and their representation within individual business/government bodies.

This project would seek to gather articles together, and organize efforts.

  1. To expand, and globalize, articles related to Organized Labour.
  2. To create and expand articles for individual Labour Organizations.
  3. To establish fair and consistent representation of Labour in business, government, and organizational articles.

Labour representation

Undoubtedly, this project area will attract controversy. By its very nature, the relationship between Labour and management is often adversarial, and a source of conflict. Nevertheless, the two are linked, and it is difficult to discuss one without the other.

In this light, this project seeks to create a consensus for the inclusion of labour representation in the articles directly related to business, government, and employers. The sub page /Labour representation had been started to begin this process - with the creation of a NPOV infobox, and application standards.

Law

Aim to give basic information about every piece of law that had an important effect on Labour relations (starting with the red linked laws in articles).

Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.

Check Wikipedia:WikiProject Melbourne#Adopt an article to see how this section is used.
