Main Characters
Lazlo
A fun loving, free-wheeling Brazilian spider monkey, Lazlo is one happy camper; when everyone else is bored he is having fun. However, with all the rules, routine, and structure of Camp Kidney, Lazlo and his best friends (Raj and Clam) have a hard time fitting in with the locals (namely Lumpus and Edward). Lazlo's cheerful, idealistic attitude and overactive imagination towards solving problems doesn't always match Scoutmaster Lumpus' idea of how things should be done. A creature of simple pleasures, Lazlo is easily entertained (in one episode, he pretended his own hand was a toy airplane and "flew" it around) and seems to be in an almost perpetual state of happiness (in other words, he is happy almost all the time). Lazlo is very optimistic, and there have only been a handful of times when his attitude has been noticeably negative ("Hello Summer, Goodbye Camp" was one of them, when Camp Kidney was almost shut down); these times are always very short-lived, and Lazlo quickly returns to his natural optimistic self. Lazlo is extremely friendly and compassionate, and seems oblivious to the fact that many of his fellow campers hate him for his attitude; he is undaunted by this and treats everybody as a friend, regardless of whether they love or hate him. Apparently, Lazlo is good at stacking beans and almost broke the world record. He also seems to have poor sense of history. In "It's No Picnic", he thinks Napoleon fought the Swiss on the Moon. In "Hello Summer, Goodbye Camp", it is revealed that Lazlo's neckerchief was previously owned by the Big Bean himself until he willingly gave it back. He is taken in many animals from the wild as his friends such as a snake, bear, llama, etc. He is a very skilled swimmer, like Clam. His favorite food is banana bread (Lazlo is a monkey, and loves bananas as most monkeys are portrayed as liking). Lazlo makes good hot dogs and often offends Chef McMuesli unintentionally. He follows codes and rules of the Bean Scouts and owns the Bean Scout Manual, much to Lumpus' annoyance. All the early episodes were mainly focused on him but as the show progressed into the second season, he is no longer the focus of some episodes, but still plays important roles. He nor any of the Jelly Bean Scouts appeared in "Miss Fru Fru". He also does not appear in "Spacemates". He is good at pinecone-sitting contests and Squirrel Scout Patsy has a crush on him that he is unaware of. Lazlo is voiced by Carlos Alazraqui.
Raj

Scoutmaster Algonquin C. Lumpus

Lumpus (pronounced Lümpus, voiced by Tom Kenny) is a moose who scoutmaster of Camp Kidney.
Recurring Characters
Edison "Edward" T. Platypus
A stickler for the rules, Edward (voiced by Doug Lawrence) is a platypus with a big, fat grudge against anyone who doesn't follow them. In "Racing Slicks", even though he won the race, he didn't get the biggest trophy. He's constantly coming up with schemes to spoil any fun that Lazlo and his pals might have, especially in "The Nothing Club" where everyone except Lazlo was in an anti-Lazlo club. However, he agrees with Lazlo in "Loogie Llama" that they need to get ol' Spitty back from the Squirrel Scouts because Spitty's one of them. He is nice to Lazlo when Edward was teaching Lazlo how to burp by showing him some of his burp moves and when they win the talent show. He is also apparently the youngest scout, as he was the last scout to reach "big-boy" status in "Movie Night". As revealed in one episode, his real name is Edison and his middle name is left out as T. Nobody, however, knows Edward's secret (until "Hello, Dolly"): he loves dolls and playing with them. He even has a doll named Veronica he got for Christmas. He sleeps in Pinto Cabin with Chip and Skip. Edward is also Camp Kidney's current mascot known as the "Duke of Lice" which is shown in the episode "Mascot Madness". He has a brother whose name is Mel and has three other older brothers. It is revealed in "Hello Summer, Goodbye Camp", Edward really wants a voodoo drum. In the episode "Waiting For Edward" it is sadly revealed he needs Chip and Skip to feel smart. Edward also used to play croquet, but quit for an unknown reason, as he mentions in the episode "Creepy Crawly Campy".
Chip and Skip
The two clueless dung beetle brothers, Chip and Skip are usually the ones who help Edward carry out his schemes. They're the easiest scouts at Camp Kidney to spot because they're constantly being followed by a big cloud of dirt (similar to Pig-Pen in the Peanuts comics) and flies, and are significantly brighter when clean. Skip proudly wears his awards sash on his uniform to differentiate himself from Chip. They sleep in Pinto Cabin. In Irreconcilable Dungfrences it is revealed that Skip is 3 seconds older than Chip. Also Raj says that even their arguments don't even make sense. The ironic thing about them is they appear to be dim-witted, but they are in the Genius Society. In the episode "Waiting For Edward", they actually do turn into geniuses but only because they were upside down for a long time and most of their blood went to their brain. Both are voiced by Steve Little.
Slinkman
Lumpus' assistant, Slinkman (voiced by Tom Kenny) is a quiet, nervous banana slug who literally has no backbone. He also went under the alias Boris, Lumpus' nephew. He knows the Bean Scout manual cover-to-cover, is loyal, kind, obedient and generally keeps the camp running despite Scoutmaster Lumpus' frequent hissyfits and constant laziness. He seems similar to Mr. Burn's assistant Smithers from The Simpsons, and his relationship with Lumpus is very reminiscent of Smithers and Burns' relationship; Slinkman generally assumes a submissive role, doing nearly everything for Lumpus and obeying his every command, much like Smithers does in "The Simpsons". There have been a handful of situations where Slinkman stands up to Lumpus, such as when he wanted to go to "Slugfest" but Lumpus wouldn't permit it, until Slinkman went berserk and wrecked all of Lumpus' possessions. However, these instances are the exception, and are usually only when Slinkman's compliant, non-confrontational nature is pushed to the limit. Slinkman has to do a lot of things, but he does love kids, particularly those of Jelly Bean Cabin, and sometimes acts like one of them. He's a master at shadow puppets, complete with an imitation of Scoutmaster Lumpus, a good prankster, and is also a race car aficionado. It was discovered in Slugfest that Scoutmaster Lumpus actually enjoys hanging out with Slinkman since he has worked for five years under Scoutmaster Lumpus. In "Beans and Pranks", we find out that Slinkman has been pranking on Lumpus every June 9, because that is Slinkman's birthday and Lumpus forgets each year. As revealed in The Battle of Pimpleback Mountain, Slinkman hits Scoutmaster Lumpus with a full moon frying pan when he has his "episodes." Also revealed in Dead Bean Drop, Slinkman used to be a daredevil named Super Slug. He succeeded Dead Bean Drop, but fell and ended up in a time capsule with Lumpus and they were free in 2031 in the future with Chip & Skip, because of this, Dead Bean Drop should be considered non-canon. Also Slinkman was a Bean Scout with Lumpus 15 years ago. Slinkman appearently knows some deadly or jolly wood gnomes which he plays poker with on Tuesdays and often uses them to scare scouts.
Samson J. Clogmeyer
An accident-prone neat freak guinea pig, Samson is usually seen with Edward. He is a disaster just waiting to happen. For example, we learn in "The Wig of Why" when "Madame Lazlo" correctly predicts with the wig on that Samson will be hit with a volleyball, throughout this episode, he wears a helmet and is hit by volleyballs. Also, in "Snow Beans", he is struck by a falling dictionary while skiing down the hill. While in "Camp Kidney Stinks", we discover he has a very sensitive nose and refuses to go into the stinkweed with the others. He is also the most ignored camper, which is proven in "Camp Samson". However, he is the only one who can sneak into the junk food vault without being caught. Samson has no friends. It was revealed in one episode while he was a reading a book called "How to Make Friends". It's also revealed in "Irreconcilable Dungferences" when Chip wanted someone else as his best friend, Samson was greatly disapointed and started crying. In aggravation or at random, he will repeatedly say "murp" or "nerts." He has an assortment of "health buddies" which he keeps next to his bed for his various medical problems. His "buddies" include nasal allergy buddy, asthma buddy, foot fungus buddy, eyeball buddy, and skin rash buddy. Jeff Bennett provides Samson's voice, as his possible female double is Almondine the Owl. In "Hot Spring Fever", his last name is revealed to be Clogmeyer. He is part of the Fava Cabin along with Dave and Ping-Pong, and his gross secret is that he has fat armpits. In Camp Samson, it's revealed that he is a part of Nerd Club and the "Whiney, Sickly Gray Furry Guys With Glasses Club" along with Clam, even though he isn't present in the pictures, albeit he fits the description. In "Seven Deadly Sandwiches", it is revealed that Samson is wheat intolerant. In "Hard Days Samson", he is Acorn Flats' mailman and has a deviated septum. His name is either spelled Samson or Sampson. However, since the Squirrel Scouts mistook him for Hamley Manster, a play on words meaning Manley Hamster, implying that he is, in fact, a hamster.
Dave and Ping Pong
A set of long-necked, identical twin loons, except that Ping Pong is taller. "Madame Lazlo" correctly predicted that Ping Pong was allergic to his predictions, but this only happened because Clam was absent-mindedly waving the feather fan at Ping Pong's nose, making him sneeze. They are usually seen saying or mumbling about some boring topic. They're both part of Fava Cabin with Samson. Both are voiced by Doug Lawrence.
Lemmings
These teal-colored lemming quadruplets named Larry, Leonard, Louie and Liniment carried eliminated contestants from the pine cone sitting contest in "It's No Picnic" with a stretcher, and carry canoes in "Parasitic Pal" and "Float Trippers" can also be briefly seen in "Gone Fishin' (Sort Of)" carrying a cow. Meanwhile, they all ran away from Lazlo in "The Nothing Club" when he approached them. They are seen in "Creepy Crawly Campy" under water with snorkels. However, there have been cases of more than the four previously mentioned and are oddly purple in random episodes. In one episode there are seven of them seen.Whenever they are moving together they say "Hup, hup, hup, hup." When Edward tries to pants one of them all of their pants come down at once. All four of their voices are done by Steve Little. All four of these scouts live in Kidney Bean Cabin. There is a possibility that they know the lake monster seeing as how they were carrying a cow and in the credits there was a cow moo coming from the monster. It is reaveled in "Parents Day" that they have two moms and two dads. Hence the announcment that the winners of the parents day relay are Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. Lemming.
Patsy Smiles
Patsy Smiles is an upbeat, chipper mongoose who happens to have a huge crush on Lazlo and will pounce on him any chance she gets. She has pink-red hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She is easily irritated and despite being romantic and girly, she is experienced in martial arts and enjoys tomboyish activities. Her the best friends are Nina the girrafe and Getchen the crocodile.(voiced by Jodi Benson).
Nina Neckerly
A scholarly giraffe who is best friends with Patsy and Gretchen. She has orange-red hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She has a penchant for Science fiction books and comics and is frequently seen reading one. Her favorite magazine to read is Tales to Stupefy. She was the first to join Lazlo's Nothing Club and was the only squirrel Scout seen in the episode. Her the best friends are Patsy the mongoose and Gretchen the hungry crocodile.(voiced by Jill Talley)
Gretchen
An aggressive and perpetually irritable and hungry crocodile, Gretchen rounds out the trio of main Squirrel Scouts. She has blond hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She is more tomboyish than the rest, is always in a bad mood, and hates the Bean Scouts with a passion. Clam once had a huge crush on her when he bumped his head, and apparently still does, but she has a crush on Edward. (voiced by Jill Talley)
Ms. Jane Doe
One of the leaders of the Squirrel Scouts, Jane Doe is a ditzy and scatterbrained doe, who is completely oblivious to Scoutmaster Lumpus's infatuation of her. She is girly and tries to be a feminine influence on the Squirrel Scouts. Jane Doe is seen not wearing pants.(voiced by Jodi Benson)
Miss Rubella Mucus
Miss Rubella Mucus (also voiced by Jill Talley) is a warthog who hates the Bean Scouts and Lumpus. She is Miss Jane Doe's assistant, with a type of Southern accent. In the episode "Beany Weenies" Miss Mucus actually planned on shutting down Camp Kidney by making them fail their physical test. She is also the person who blows the bugle for the Squirrel scouts to wake up and leads them in their morning routines. She is portrayed as a large and angry, stereotypical redneck woman. She lives in trailer and hoardes any Bean Scout toy that comes near it. She has a showdown with the Jelly Bean trio in "Beans in Toyland" where it is revealed that she is extremely afraid of Bean Scout socks. It is also revealed that she can cook cookies using chainsaw (as a batter), and a car tire (as a dougher). She wears a wig.
Commander Hoo Ha
The true leader of Camp Kidney. Often Summoned by Slinkman. He gives inspections which brings the whole camp into a nervous wreck, and before hand was only mentioned in the series. That is, everyone except the Jelly Bean Scouts (Lazlo, Raj, and Clam). The penalty for failing is no clean underwear for a year. He is a buffalo whose name comes from the military exclamation "Hoo-ha!" (or "Hoo-ah!"). Commander Hoo Ha's episode appearances are The Weakest Link (in the end), Movie Night (seen only in the thought cloud of Lumpus in the beginning) and The Big Cheese (heard on the phone and seen towards the end). He also appeared in Tomato Paste, Beany Weenies, and Handy Helper, but with a different look. It seems that he doesn't know Slinkman's name. He keeps calling him "Slugman" and Slinkman keeps correcting him till he learns it right. The only thing he cares about is have Bean Scouts graduate from that camp unlike Jane Doe. Voiced by Jeff Bennett.
Chef Heimlich McMuesli / Wheatgrass Willie
Camp Kidney's cook and a goat. As we can tell from the episodes "Meatman", "Beans and Weenies", and "Temper Tee Pee", McMuesli appears to be a hippie of sorts. He's a vegan, he drives a hippie van (complete with the "Flower-Power" theme) and likes to serve the campers healthy foods and meals. Unfortunately, his cooking is apparently horrible to the point where the scouts turn green when they see his tofu dogs or celebrating when he could not make his "Tomato Surprise". He's rather cheerful but also seems to be rather impatient at times, as demonstrated in the above episodes when his meals are made fun of by Lazlo, or when Clam sprays goop everywhere. He is revealed to be poet in "Miss Fru Fru" when Gretchen read a poem by him about trees, and confiscates soda cans and junk food from other scouts. His reasons are "Soda is for losers", and "Only junkheads eat junk food". "Temper Tee Pee" reveals that he has neck long brown hair under his hat. Voiced by Carlos Alazraqui.
Nurse Leslie
Camp Kidney's nurse, a pink nurse shark. He's usually seen with a cup of coffee in his hand and a rather bored expression on his face, and he is never seen smiling. He tends to all the campers' ailments and issues excuses when necessary. It is very apparent that he hates his job and doesn't like dealing with the bean scouts. He's also not very skilled with the job, one example being when Lazlo had a leech on his head, and when Nurse Leslie saw the x-ray of the leech drinking Lazlo's blood, still told Lazlo that there was nothing wrong. He never walks from place to place, instead propelling himself using a wheeled chair that he always sits on. In some episodes he has a green eye and a white eye, while in others he has two white eyes. Doug Lawrence provides the voice for him.
Lifeguards Pierre and No-Neck
Camp Kidney's otter lifeguards who assign swimming buddies based on how they do in a test. One small problem, though: They have no idea how to swim, and No-Neck has no neck but really they both look the same. The name Pierre is a French name, suggesting Pierre and No-Neck are from France or from Quebec, a French-speaking province of Canada. They are only seen in "Swimming Buddy" and "Parasitic Pal". In "Swimming Buddy" they're orange, but in "Parasitic Pal", they are purple for some reason. Both voiced by Jeff Bennett.

A walrus scout from Camp Kidney.
Milt (a.k.a. Sheldon)
A hippo scout from Camp Kidney who lost his dignity the most. The skill he did for the talent show in "Burpless Bean" was just simply throwing a red ball from one hand to the other without looking. Apparently in "Campers All Pull Pants Down" he is Milt but in "Burpless Bean he is known as Sheldon. Sheldon could be his nickname. Another possibility is that he might be twins of those names (though both are not present at the same time). A third possibility is that Slinkman probably doesn't know this scout's name too well.

A pig scout from Camp Kidney whose name was revealed when Edward was pantsing everyone in "Camper Pull All Pants Down."
Norman
A bighorn sheep scout from Camp Kidney. He, Milt/Sheldon and Bill live in Baked cabin.
Gordon
A bear scout from Camp Kidney. According to Edward he doesn't have a name and he's not supposed to speak. His name was revealed while Edward was pantsing everyone in "Campers All Pull Pants Down."

Almondine
An owl scout from Acorn Flats. She has dark brown hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. Earlier she lived with her mother and older brother. She has large glasses and the general stereotypical nerd appearance. Though she's an owl and knows it, she isn't aware that she should have the ability to fly. She's usually seen with Patsy, Gretchen, and Nina. It is known that she loves mathematics, and she also enjoys theater. Her favorite actor is Rock Buckskin, however, she feels that his latest flop, "Caribbean Caribou Two: Back in Action" really had no plot. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe. Her favorite sport is football. (voiced by Tara Strong).
Amber
A rabbit scout from Acorn Flats. She has light pink hair with a light blue hat, wears a light blue shirt with a light red sweater weast, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. Earlier she lived with her parents. She is a shy and cowardly girl. If Amber sees her Scoutmistress, she'll escape. She is often seen with her friends: Toodie, Nina, Gretchen, Almondine and Honey. She sometimes has much time to listen the stories what are read by her friend, Patsy. She plays with her other friends at the afternoon. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe. Her favorite game is volleyball. She hates Gordon from Camp Kidney. Her rival is Edward from Camp Kidney. (voiced by Tara Strong).
Toodie
A poodle scout from Acorn Flats. She has light brown hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She is a fantastic and creative girl. She is often seen with her friends: Amber, Nina, Gretchen, Almondine and Honey. When Jane Doe needs help, Toodie helps her. Her favorite friends are Rebeca, Tina and Amber. She has much time to listen to the stories read by Patsy. She loves mathematics and wild nature. She also loves playing volleyball with Amber and other friends. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe. She hates Bill from Camp Kidney. Her rival is Edward from Camp Kidney. (voiced by Candi Milo).
Honey
A bear scout from Acorn Flats. She has curly blond hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She is sometimes a shy girl, but she's popularity. She is often seen with her friends: Amber, Nina, Gretchen, Almondine and Poodle. She always plays with Patsy and her friends. She has much time to listen to the stories read by Patsy. When her friends are in danger, she helps them. Her favorite food is marshallow. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe.(voiced by Grey DeLisle).
Tina
A mouse scout from Acorn Flats. She has long dark brown hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She also has two teeth. She is sometimes seen with Amber and Toodie while her Scoutmistress is talking about nature. She has much time to listen to the stories read by Patsy. She is often seen with her friends: Amber the rabbit and Alomdine the owl. Her favorite food is marshallow. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe. Her favorite sport is football. She hates Chuck from Camp Kidney. Her rival is Edward from Camp Kidney. (voiced by Candi Milo).
Eva
A squirrel scout from Acorn Flats. She has purple hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She is the youngest scout in Acorn Flats. She loves Amber and Honey. She also listens to stories read by her friend, Patsy Smiles. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe. Her favorite game is football. She hates Clam and Wilbert from Camp Kidney. Her rival is Edward from Camp Kidney. (voiced by Tara Strong).
Rebeca
A tapir scout from Acorn Flats. She has long dark pink hair with a light blue hat, wears a blue shirt with a orange-pink sweater vest, blue skirt and brown shoes. She lives at Acorn Flats with her Scoutmistress and other girls. She also has the ambition to Amber. She wears a camper suit. She is the fatest scout in this camp. When her friends are in danger, she arrives to save them. She loves volleyball, mathematics and nature. Her favorite food are candies. She is the only known Squirrel Scout as a member in the Rock Buckskin Fan Club, of which is led by Jane Doe. She hates Ms Rubella "Ruby" Mucus. Her the best friend is Bill from Camp Kidney and her rival is Skip from Camp Kidney. (voiced by Grey DeLisle).
