Jodi Marie Marzorati Benson (born October 10, 1961 in Rockford , Illinois ) is an American actress , voice actress and soprano .

Career

Jodi Benson started singing when she was 5 years old. She graduated from Millikin University in Decatur . During her sophomore year break, she auditioned for a role on a Broadway show and won the job. In 1992 she won a Tony Award for her role as Polly Baker in the musical "Crazy for You". She gained recognition through her voice in films like, Ariel, the Mermaid , Toy Story , Thumble Line and more. At the European premiere of the musical My One and Only , she shared her stage with her husband Ray Benson . She and her husband have 2 children.
