Oak Lawn Community High School, or OLCHS, is a school in the Chicago suburb of Oak Lawn, Illinois. The name "Spartans" and the colors Green and White were chosen by a committee in tribute to the Michigan State University Spartans, who won the Rose Bowl in 1954.

Athletics

Oak Lawn Community High School has the following teams:

Fall

Winter

Spring

As of 2006, the only Spartan sports team to win an IHSA State Championship has been Boy's Volleyball, who won it in 1994. Many of the other teams have made the State Finals but could not pull off a victory. The Boy's Bowling team has made it to the State Finals in every year of its existence, and in February 2006, senior Dan Bunce bowled a 290 during the Finals, the highest score in the whole tournament. The Football team is 1-6 in the playoffs with their only playoff win coming in 1991 against Gage Park; the Spartans have made the State Playoffs each year from 2003-2006. Unfortunately, they have not made it past the first round in that time. The Girls' Basketball teams of the early 1970s would very likely have continued their undefeated streaks to IHSA Championships; however, unfortunately there was no state level competition for the girls' teams at that time.
