Terry Christopher Tyler (born October 30, 1956) is a retired American basketball player.
A 6'7" forward/guard from Northwestern High School and the University of Detroit (now known as the University of Detroit Mercy), Tyler played 11 seasons (1978–1989) in the NBA as a member of the Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, and Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in his NBA career and earned NBA All-Rookie Team honors in 1979.[1] He also participated in the 1986 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, where he finished in last place (8th).
In 2001, he was inducted into the Detroit Mercy Titans Hall of Fame.[2]
