'Masenate Mohato Seeiso (born June 2, 1976 in Mapoteng as Anna Karabo Motšoeneng ) is the wife of Letsie III. Royal Consort , i.e. titular queen of Lesotho .

'Masenate Mohato Seeiso is the eldest daughter of five children from Thekiso Motšoeneng and his wife' Makarabo. Seeiso bears the Roman Catholic baptismal name Anna . From 1990 to 1996 she attended Machabeng International College , from which she graduated with the International General Certificate for Secondary Education and an International Baccalaureate . In 1997 she began studying at the National University of Lesotho , which she obtained due to her marriage to Letsie III. had to give up for now. She had met this one a year earlier.

Seeiso and the king got engaged in October 1999 and married on February 18, 2000 in the capital Maseru . The public ceremony at Setsoto Stadium was held by Archbishop Bernard Mohlalisi in front of 40,000 spectators. Numerous international guests, including Nelson Mandela and Festus Mogae as well as Charles, Prince of Wales , attended the wedding. She was the first non- noble person in modern times to marry into the Lesothic royal family.

The queen has always stood up for charitable organizations . Among other things, she is an ambassador for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the SOS Children's Villages .
