(1629) Pecker is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 28 February 1952 by the French astronomer Louis Boyer in Algiers was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the French astronomer Jean-Claude Pecker (1923-2020), who was director of the Nice observatory at the time of Louis Boyer's stay in Nice.
