(23774) Herbelliott is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 26 June 1998 by Australian amateur astronomer John Broughton on Reedy Creek Observatory ( IAU code in 428) Queensland , Australia was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the Australian athlete (middle distance runner) Herb Elliott (* 1938), who set a world record over 1500 m at the Olympic Games in Rome.
