(4021) Dancey is a main belt asteroid discovered by Ted Bowell on Aug. 30, 1981 at Anderson Mesa Station at Lowell Observatory .

The asteroid was named after Roy and Bruce D. Dancey, who were responsible for the telescopes at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory .
