(4066) Haapavesi is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 7 September 1940 by the Finnish astronomer Heikki A. Alikoski in Turku was discovered.

The asteroid is named after the birthplace of Heikki A. Alikoski's father: the Finnish municipality of Haapavesi .
