(4850) Palestrina is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on October 27, 1973 by the German astronomer Freimut Börngen at the Thuringian state observatory in Tautenburg ( IAU code 033).
It was named in honor of the Italian composer and church musician Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1514–1594).
