(8898) Linnaea is an asteroid of the main belt , the September 29, 1995 by G. Emerson was discovered in Golden.

The asteroid is named after Linnaea Barton Keammerer (1980-1992), a girl who died in a gun accident at the age of 12. She became known for telling a journalist when she was 6 when she saw Comet 1P / Halley that she would like to see it again in 75 years.
