(993) Moultona is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 12 January 1923 by the Belgian astronomer George Van Biesbroeck at Yerkes Observatory in Williams Bay , Wisconsin was discovered.
The asteroid is named after the American astronomer and mathematician Forest Ray Moulton .
