Álvaro Navarro , full name Álvaro Damián Navarro Bica , (born January 28, 1985 in Tacuarembó ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.86-meter-tall offensive player Navarro was part of the squad of the first division Defensor Sporting at the beginning of his career from the Apertura 2003 to mid-January 2010 . In the 2007/08 season, his employer won the Uruguayan championship. In the 2008/09 season he scored twelve goals in the Primera División and also contributed one goal in five appearances in the Copa Libertadores . For the following season 2009/10 there are eleven first division matches with his participation and three goals for Navarro to book. At the end of January 2010, he moved to Argentina to Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata . There he played 14 games (two goals) in the Primera División . In mid-January 2011 he joined the league competitor CD Godoy Cruz . Until his return to Defensor in mid-August 2012, he completed 38 first division games (eight goals), seven games (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores and three encounters (one goal) in the Copa Sudamericana for the club from Mendoza . In his second stop at the Montevideo club , he has eight first division appearances (one goal). In February 2013 he was loaned to the Chilean club CD Cobresal by Defensor . He played 48 times in the Primera División and scored eleven goals. At the beginning of July 2014 he switched to CD Olmedo . With the Ecuadorians he was used in 22 first division games (seven goals). In 2015 he scored eleven goals in Primera B. In July 2015 he joined the Brazilian second division club Botafogo Rio de Janeiro on loan . After nine goals in 15 league appearances, he moved to Mexico for Puebla FC in December 2015 . So far (as of March 4, 2017) he has recorded 30 premier league appearances (eight goals), five games (no goal) of the Copa México and two matches (no goal) of the Copa Libertadores 2016 .

Navarro was a player for the Uruguayan U-20 national team . During this phase of his career, he survived a cancer of the throat.
