Ángel Rodrigo Romero Villamayor (born July 4, 1992 in Fernando de la Mora ) is a Paraguayan football player . He plays in the position of the striker.

Career

society

Ángel Romero received his athletic training at the Paraguayan first division club Cerro Porteño from the Barrio Obrero in Asunción . Here he made the leap into the professional squad in 2011 and came to regular assignments. At the end of December 2013, he was named Paraguayan Footballer of the Year . At the beginning of June 2014 the player was sold to the Brazilian first division club Corinthians São Paulo . The contract had a term of five years. In 2015 he became national champion there with the team.

In July 2019 Romero moved to Argentina where he signed a contract with Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro . Due to a contractual clause, the club had to sign his brother Óscar Romero, who was under contract with Shanghai Shenhua .

National team

Ángel Romero was appointed to the Paraguayan national soccer team for the first time at the end of August 2013 . On September 6, 2013 he came in the World Cup qualifier against Bolivia for his first use. Romero scored his first international goal on November 15, 2014 in a friendly against Peru. In the home game he was substituted on after the half-time break and he scored in the 70th minute after presentation by Ruiz to 1-0 (2-1).
