Fernando de la Mora is a city in the district of the same name, part of the Central Department in Paraguay . It is named after the Paraguayan politician Fernando de la Mora (1775-1835), who is considered one of the fathers of Paraguay's independence.
location
Fernando de la Mora is bounded by the districts of Luque and San Lorenzo in the north, with the district of Villa Elisa to the south, to the west by San Lorenzo and Ñemby , and to the south-east Asunción . Fernando de la Mora forms part of the greater Asuncion area.
The city is divided into two parts, the south and north zones, with a total area of 21 km² . It is criss-crossed by asphalt roads from north to south.
history
In the past the city was called Zavala Cué . It is named Fernando de la Mora in honor of one of the fathers of Paraguay's independence from Spain, Dr. Fernando de la Mora. The head of the municipal administration is Dr. Rolando Aníbal Franco Gómez, the third person in his family to hold this position.
