The Aegidia Curia is an ensemble of buildings in Naumburg (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt, some of which date from the Romanesque period . The curia is part of the Romanesque Road .

Curia

The core of the buildings ( Domplatz 8 ), which originally served as the residential and administrative buildings of the canons of the neighboring Naumburg Cathedral, date from the beginning of the 13th century. After 1532 and again in 1890, the curia was comprehensively renewed. The farm buildings that have been preserved are of Romanesque, partly also of late Gothic origin. The portal on the eastern side is remarkable; it dates from shortly after 1532 and has canopies and seat consoles.

The upper floor, which contains the actual chapel, rests on it, set back a little and provided with corner pilasters . A frieze of triangles runs around the eaves . There is a small round window in the south wall. The roof is designed as a pyramid roof . In the south wall, a former portal can also be seen on the upper floor, which was accessible via a wooden flight of stairs. This entrance was removed in the late Gothic period and replaced by an arched curtain window .

The apse of the chapel protrudes from the east wall on a console.
