Åkers styckebruk is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Södermanland County and the historical province of Södermanland . It is located about an hour's drive southwest of Stockholm in the municipality of Strängnäs .

history

Åkers styckebruk emerged from the cannon foundry founded in 1580 and is still closely associated with the company today. The first cannons were produced in 1588. The foundry was owned by Duke Karl, who later became King Charles IX.

Today the Åkers Group produces rollers primarily for the automotive supply industry. The company is the largest employer in Strängnäs municipality.
