Çörekli ( Kurmanji : denwan) is a jesidisches village in the southeast of Turkey . The village is located about 15 km southeast of Midyat in the Midyat district of the same name in the Mardin province . The place is located in the Tur Abdin mountain range in Southeast Anatolia .

Çörekli (Denwan) is located approximately 2 km southeast of Koçan and approximately 2 km southwest of Çayırlı .

History and population

The original name of the village is Denwan. The villages were renamed as a result of the Turkishization of geographical names in Turkey . Today Çörekli is mostly an abandoned village. The village had an exclusively Yazidi population. Most of the Yazidis from the town fled to Germany.
