The Çınarcık Dam ( Turkish Çınarcık Barajı ) is located on the Orhaneli Çayı River in the Turkish province of Bursa .
The Çınarcık dam was built in 1995-2008 as an earthfill dam . It serves various purposes: energy generation , irrigation , flow control and drinking water supply . The dam is 123 m high (above the valley floor) and has a volume of 5.8 million m³. The associated reservoir has a water surface of 10.14 km² and a storage volume of 372.94 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 6111 ha. It also provides 145 million m³ of drinking water per year.
The Uluabat hydropower plant ( ⊙ ) was built between 2006 and 2010 and is located not far from the eastern shore of Lake Uluabat Gölü . The water is fed from the Çınarcık reservoir to the power plant via an 11.4 km long tunnel and a 1182 m long pressure pipe. Below the power plant, the water continues to flow through a 1,170 m long drainage channel to Uluabat Gölü. With two 50 MW - Francis turbines the hydropower plant produces about 360 GWh per year.
