Çalışgan & Heuser is a German - Turkish world music duo consisting of Kazım Çalışgan and Andreas Heuser. The two musicians are also the initiators and directors of the Transorient Orchestra, founded in 2003, and have been working together regularly since 1988. In 1996/997 they recorded their joint album Asya (Acoustic Music, 1997). Karadeniz (Yaboa Music) from the Transorient Orchestra followed in 2005 .

Çalışgan plays Turkish stringed instruments such as saz , cura , tambur and cümbüş and the percussion instruments talking drum , darbuka , bendir and davul . He also takes on the vocal part within the duo. Heuser plays various guitars (6-, 8- and 10-string acoustic guitars, requinto and electric guitar), the 5-string electric violin and percussion .
