Çetin Altan

Çetin Altan (born June 22, 1927 in Istanbul ; † October 22, 2015 ) was a Turkish writer and publicist . He was from 1965 to 1969 as a representative of the Türkiye İşçi Partisi , the workers' party of Turkey , member of the Turkish parliament .

In the literary field, Çetin Altan gained fame as a columnist and political storyteller.

Altan's sons Ahmet Altan , a journalist, and Mehmet Altan , professor of economics, were arrested in 2016 after the failed coup attempt.
