Ève Routhier (born September 1, 1988 in Sherbrooke ) is a Canadian ski racer . She specializes in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .
biography
Routhier began to compete in FIS races in December 2004 , first appearances in the Nor-Am Cup followed a month later. At the beginning she also drove downhill and super-G races, but then increasingly limited herself to the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom. She achieved her first victory in an FIS race in February 2007. She made her debut in the World Cup on November 25, 2007 in the slalom in Panorama , which she finished in 53rd place. For the time being, this was her only World Cup start, the next only followed in January 2010. In the winter of 2007/08 she was unable to establish herself at the top of the Nor-Am Cup, and she also remained in the midfield at the 2008 Junior World Cup . However, she reached second place behind Shona Rubens at the Canadian Slalom Championship 2008 .
There was an upward trend in the winter of 2008/09 when Routhier made it onto the podium four times in the Nor-Am Cup and took fifth place in the slalom discipline. The 2009/10 season was similar , with three podium places being enough to win the slalom standings. This also gave her a permanent World Cup starting place. On November 28, 2010, Routhier drove to 19th place in her fifth World Cup race, the Aspen Slalom , and thus got her first World Cup points. She was able to score a second time as 23rd in the Semmering slalom . She also started in the slalom of the 2011 World Championship in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where she was eliminated in the second run after finishing 35th in the first run.
December 18, 2011 Routhier suffered at the World Cup slalom in Courchevel a broken left fibula , which she had to pause in the rest of the winter.
