Élisabeth Crouzet-Pavan (born July 17, 1953 in Paris ) is a French historian whose main focus is on Italy in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance , with particular emphasis on the Republic of Venice . She also works on the Kingdom of Jerusalem .

life and work

Élisabeth Pavan was born in Paris and is married to the writer Denis Crouzet , with whom she has had a daughter since 1985. From 1978 to 1981 she taught history and geography at the Lycée Pierre de la Ramée in Saint-Quentin , Aisne . In 1976 she began her studies, from 1981 she worked at the Center national de la recherche scientifique on Les villes dans l'Occident médiévale (the cities in the medieval Occident ), and in 1985 she moved to the École française de Rome .
