Émeric Crucé
Émeric Crucé called Émeric Lacroix (* around 1590, † 1648 ) was a French monk and mathematics teacher at a Paris college.
He wrote the first peace plan, which aimed not only at peace in Europe but also throughout the world. The little book he had published in 1623 is called The New Kineas (French La Nouveau Cynee ). Kineas is the name of the confidante of King Pyrrhus , the king who has become proverbial through his senseless Pyrrhic victories. Crucé proposed to convene a permanent meeting of ambassadors of all countries in Venice , which should settle the disputes of the rulers in a peaceful way and through arbitration. In doing so he formulated the idea of the League of Nations in Geneva and its current successor, the UN in New York .
