Época ( Epoch ) magazine is a weekly Brazilian news magazine . The publisher is Editora Globo, a publishing house based in Rio de Janeiro , part of the largest South American media conglomerate, Grupo Globo . The magazine, which has been published since 1998, has a circulation of around 420,000 (corresponding to ANER - Associação Nacional de Editores de Revistas ). The main competitor is Veja magazine from the São Paulo- based Grupo Abril , whose circulation exceeds one million

In terms of appearance, the Brazilian magazine Época comes very close to its German counterpart Focus . In particular, the design of the front pages of both magazines is very similar.
