Época ( Epoch ) magazine is a weekly Brazilian news magazine . The publisher is Editora Globo, a publishing house based in Rio de Janeiro , part of the largest South American media conglomerate, Grupo Globo . The magazine, which has been published since 1998, has a circulation of around 420,000 (corresponding to ANER - Associação Nacional de Editores de Revistas ). The main competitor is Veja magazine from the São Paulo- based Grupo Abril , whose circulation exceeds one million

In terms of appearance, the Brazilian magazine Época comes very close to its German counterpart Focus . In particular, the design of the front pages of both magazines is very similar. The presentation of the reports and the entire graphic appearance of the Focus and the Época are also very comparable.
In addition to daily political events, Época brings topics from sport, leisure, work, health and lifestyle to family, education, or travel, and notes from all over the world.
