Life

Guirado began his film career at the regional television station France 3 Rhône-Alpes, for which he realized portraits and documentaries. His first major success was the short film Un petit air de fête , shown at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1999 , which won the Prix Kodak in Cannes and was awarded a César for Best Short Film in 2001.

With Vom Himmel hoch , Guirado made his first feature-length film in 2003, taking up the theme of Un petit air de fête about the expulsion of homeless people from inner cities and also starring the film with the actors of the short film. As with all of his films, Guirado wrote the script here too. Guirado's second feature film The Flying Merchant (2007), which was nominated for a César in an actor's category, was highly praised by critics . He devoted himself again to the topic of traveling traders. In his third feature- length film, Possessions (2011), Guirado freely dealt with the “Flactif Affair” - a murder case that took place in Le Grand-Bornand in 2003.
