history
In the 15th century, Fouquet d'Agoult , Baron de La Tour-d'Aigues , owned a lot of land in the area and planned to create a pond for its irrigation. The pond was fed by a canal that the baron had built especially for this purpose and that the villagers were also allowed to use to irrigate their land. The pond has since played an important role in the development of agriculture in the Pays d'Aigues .
At the edge of the pond was a simple mill that was moved further downstream at the end of the 17th century.
Attractions
At the edge of the pond is the Château de la Bonde , a large farm and winery from the 19th century. There are many other wineries in the vicinity, such as the Château de Sannes .
