history
Étoile Noire de Strasbourg was founded on January 1st, 2000 with the aim of bringing professional hockey to Strasbourg . The association was founded as a result of the merger with the Club sportif de glace de Strasbourg (CSGSA), whose infrastructure was taken over by Étoile Noire.
Just four years after it was founded, the club played for the first time in Division 1 , the second French ice hockey league, in the 2004/05 season . With a fourth place, however, the promotion was missed. Just one year later, however, he was promoted to the Ligue Magnus as champions of Division 1 and thus made the leap to the top of France's ice hockey team.
In his first season in Ligue Magnus, the Étoile Noire reached the twelfth of 14 clubs just made the jump into the pre-playoffs, in which, however, they were eliminated with 0-2 games against the Ducs d'Angers . In the 2007/08 season, the club again reached the third from bottom just about making the jump into the pre-playoffs, in which they again lost 2-0 games. This time the team failed because of the Pingouins de Morzine . In the same season, Étoile Noire only failed in the semifinals of the Coupe de France with 3: 6 at the Dragons de Rouen .
