Éva Harmath

Éva Harmath (born July 16, 1930 in Visonta in the Gyöngyös district ; † June 24, 1993 in Szeged ) was a Hungarian opera singer (soprano) and actress.

Life

Éva Harmath completed her vocal studies with Luigi Renzin and Emilia Possert at the Franz Liszt Academy .

In the season 1953/1954 she worked as prima donna of the Budapest Operetta Theater , then until 1956 at the National Theater of Miskolc and in 1958 as a chamber singer of the National Theater Szeged .

Since 1956 Harmath has made regular guest appearances at various opera houses in other European countries and in the USA. After Ella Lee, who was cast in the premiere, Éva Harmath took on the title role in Götz Friedrich's television version of his production of Puccini's Tosca at the Komische Oper Berlin in 1964 .
