The Îlot du Verdelet is a 1.8 hectare, up to 48 m high, uninhabited tidal island in front of the Pointe de Pléneuf in the Baie de Saint-Brieuc . It belongs to the municipality of Pléneuf-Val-André in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany in France.

On the top of the rock are the remains of a Benedictine chapel from the 12th or 13th century. The island was later used for fishing and sheep pasture. With the revolution it became community property. The island was set up as an ornithological reserve in 1973 on the initiative of a local conservation association led by journalist Edmond Tranin . Access during the breeding season has been prohibited since 1984. The rock may not be stepped on at all. Since 2001 it has been part of the Breton Natura 2000 reserve Baie de Saint-Brieuc. It is one of the few nesting sites for the great cormorant ( Phalacrocorax carbo ) on the Côtes d'Armor. The ornithological reserve is mainly home to breeding populations. Other bird species use the island's surroundings as a feeding, resting or wintering area.

The specialty of Val André is that only after high tides does the water retreat so far at low tide that it is possible to get to the Verdelet Island on foot via the tombolo . People collect crustaceans, mussels and cephalopods here . The tidal fisheries ( French Pêche à pied ) is a fishing method that on the coasts with large tidal range is operated in Europe (especially on the northern French coast).
