Òscar Ribas Reig
Òscar Ribas Reig (born October 26, 1936 in Sant Julià de Lòria ) is an Andorran politician . He was first and third chairman of the government of Andorra.
Life
Reig was born in 1936 in Andorra and visited by his primary school days the Colegio La Salle and then the University in Barcelona , where in 1959, he studies the law graduated. In 1961 he also completed a master's degree in political philosophy at the University of Freiburg .
Between 1962 and 1970 Reig worked in a family-owned bank, Banca Reig SA , of which he became CEO in 1996. In 1971 he was first elected to the Consell General de les Valls , in 1975 he was re-elected. He was Minister of Finance during both terms. On January 8, 1982 he was elected by the Consell General de les Valls as the first chairman of the government of Andorra , but had to resign in 1984. After the 1990 election he was again head of government; in his term of office until 1994 the new constitution could be introduced.
