Óscar Chavez
Óscar Chávez Fernandez (born March 20, 1935 in Mexico City ; † April 30, 2020 there ) was a Mexican actor and singer .
Life
Chávez studied acting at the Escuela de Arte Teatral of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes , at the Theater Academy of Seki Sano and at the Teatro de la Universidad . He has had roles in several movies and television series. At Radio Universidad he worked on more than 200 radio plays as an actor, singer and director . His discography contains more than 50 titles. He was best known as an interpreter of Mexican folklore , political protest songs ( La Casita ) and satires. He musically supported the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN).
He died on April 30, 2020 as a result of a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
