Ömer Can Göksu (born October 21, 1968 in Istanbul ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

Little is known about Göksü's footballing career. He played for years in the Turkish amateur leagues and received a professional contract with the then third division club Tokatspor in 1995 . He played for this club for the next four years.

Coaching career

In addition to his footballing career, Göksü studied sports science and successfully completed his studies in the late 1990s. Following his playing career, he began working as a youth coach at his last club, Tokatspor , in 2000 . He then received a teaching position at Istanbul University in Istanbul and therefore moved to Istanbul. In 2005 he started working as a youth coach at İstanbulspor and took over this club as head coach just a few months later.

In the summer of 2007 he finally left Istanbulspor and worked as a junior coach at Antalyaspor , then at Konyaspor and finally at Çaykur Rizespor . In November 2011 he was introduced as head coach at the second division Istanbul Güngörenspor . He looked after this club for only a few months and then resigned from his position.

Together with Raşit Çetiner , Göksü took over the second division side Şanlıurfaspor in March 2013 . He assisted Çetiner as his assistant coach. After Çetiner unexpectedly resigned from his position in mid-September 2013, Göskü took over the team as head coach on an interim basis. A few weeks later he was hired by the club's management as a regular head coach. He was released after the 13th match day.
