description

The well-preserved barrow is located about a hundred meters from the Øresund in a two-meter high mound of earth with a diameter of about 17.0 m. The almost rectangular chamber measures around 4.0 × 1.7 m and is 1.6 m high. The chamber is made up of 11 bearing stones and three cap stones. The chamber is divided into sections . On the eastern long side there is a six meter long corridor, which is formed by six pairs of bearing stones and three cap stones. There are bowls on the largest capstone . The front has a slightly recessed exedra .

Örenäsgånggriften was discovered in 1843 and studied by the naturalist Sven Nilsson (1787–1883). He found axes , chisels and arrowheads made of flint , shards and amber beads . C. Wibling excavated the passage in 1907. He found the remains of seven skeletons. The passage grave and its surroundings were examined again in 1951–1953 and around 10,000 pieces of pottery from the funnel cup culture (TBK), which the complex had built in the Neolithic Age , were found. About two meters east of the passage grave are four stone slabs that form the remains of a stone box .

The small dolmen Fastmårupsdösen is nearby .
