The Austrian Alpine Ski Championships 1934 took place on March 24th and 25th on the Schneeberg in Lower Austria . The downhill route led from the Fischerhütte over the Kuhschneeberg to Trenkwiese. In the slalom, for the first time in a race of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV), high slalom poles were used instead of low flags to mark the gates, as gate judges increasingly had problems determining whether a gate was being passed correctly. The slalom poles proved to be effective and were already mandatory for all ÖSV races from next season.
