Austrian Alpine Ski Championships 1989
The Austrian Alpine Ski Championships in 1989 began on February 3rd with the downhill runs on the Ankogel near Mallnitz ; originally they should have taken place in Arnoldstein , but there was a lack of snow at the Carinthian border town at the so-called Dreiländereck . The top runners were not at the start because of the World Cup . On March 16, the Super-Gs were planned on the Ankogel, but these had to be canceled due to thick fog. The next day the men's giant slalom could take place as scheduled, but the women's giant slalom planned for March 18 had to be canceled again. The Super-Gs were made up on April 1st in Tux , the women's giant slalom on March 29th in Zell am Ziller . The slaloms took place on March 17th and 18th in Bad Kleinkirchheim as planned .
