Todays situation

After the residents fled the village in 1993, the first returned in 2003. Then the reconstruction of the village began. To date, almost every house is either newly built or completely renovated, including St. Mary's Church, the interior of which was completely devastated. Hanne Akbaba has been the Muhtar (village chief) of Sederi since 2009 .

The former residents live in Europe, especially in Germany and the Netherlands. You can find out more about the village through the development association Sederi eV based in Gütersloh .
