Translator Award from the City of Munich

The Translator's Prize of the City of Munich has been awarded every three years since 2000, alternating with the Literature Prize of the City of Munich and the Journalism Prize of the City of Munich as an award for a complete work . The prize money is currently 10,000 euros.

The award recognizes the quality of the work and the special merits in conveying foreign language literature. The prize is primarily intended to take into account translation services in the areas of fiction and essay writing , but also in the area of non-fiction with literary quality .

The prerequisite is that the winners live in Munich or in the Munich region.
