Ćazim Sadiković

Ćazim Sadiković (born April 1, 1935 in Ljubuški ; † January 26, 2020 ) was a Yugoslav or Bosnian political scientist and legal scholar .

Life

Ćazim Sadiković graduated from High School in Mostar and studied law at the University of Sarajevo . This was followed by a post-graduate degree in law and political science “Current Aspects of Democracy in Europe” at the University of Nancy and a doctorate in law with Heli Modic at the University of Ljubljana . The topic of his dissertation was "The Marxist Understanding of Democracy ".

From 1961 he taught political science and law at the University of Sarajevo, where he later became a professor. His teaching activities focused on international law , human rights and political systems .

Sadiković participated in the drafting of the constitution of the SFR Yugoslavia from 1974 . From 1974 to 1982 he was President of the Constitutional Commission of SR Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 1983 to 1991 he was presiding judge of the Constitutional Court of the SR Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 1996 to 2002 he was an associate member of the European Commission for Democracy through Law ( Venice Commission ).
